The site selection for Witch Hazel Cottage took a little convincing for Joanne, but she has fallen in love with the location. The site is on a plateau in a valley along the banks of Bungee Brook in Eastford, CT. It sits on land that has been farmed for generations by my family and holds many childhood memories. Each evening Deer come out from the woods to graze in the fields and drink from the brook. Sometimes Wild Turkeys are feeding in the fields that now surround the house. Bluebirds flock to this area and an occasional Herring can be seen landing in a small pond near by. Ducks are often seen in the brook. Woodchucks, rabbits, raccoons and other wild life is abundant.
